About Ravneet Chowdhury
I'm based in South Florida, where I work on my family's wellness and beauty business, handling corporate operations, compliance, and our international work across the U.S. and Latin America.
Most of what I write about here comes out of the other half of my work: the Chowdhury Family Foundation. We fund children's healthcare, education, and women's empowerment programs in the U.S., Colombia, India, and Nepal. A lot of that work is local to Miami-Dade County, in partnership with local nonprofits and hospitals. Some of it is further afield, including an orphanage in Colombia and schools for girls in India and Nepal.
I spent nearly a decade on the board of Nicklaus Children's Hospital (formerly Miami Children's), including a term as Board Chair. I've also worked with Camillus House, which serves people experiencing homelessness in Miami, and the Women of Tomorrow Mentor & Scholarship Program. I'm a member of YPO Miami and sit on the board of the Florida Grand Opera.
Before all of this, I grew up in Delhi and studied at Lady Shri Ram College. I moved to the U.S. for university, eventually went to law school at Nova Southeastern, and joined the Florida Bar.
I write here about the things I spend time on: pediatric healthcare, girls' education, and what I've learned trying to make philanthropy actually work on the ground.
